Hello... it has been a while

Hello my friends,

It has been a while since I’ve written here.

If you’re still here, thank you. I’m truly grateful.

Practically Kind — and before that, Kindness Magnet — began with a simple belief: that small moments of kindness matter more than we often realize.

Over nearly two years and 97 stories, you stayed with me as we shared moments of kindness.

I received so many wonderful, warm notes from this community. You kept me going.

I started wondering how I could bring kindness to people in a more tangible way — something that could help people connect, and something that could help someone know they mattered.

Over the past months, I’ve been quietly working on something new. It grew from the same beliefs as Kindness Magnet, but it has taken a more hands-on, mailbox-opening, paper-and-watercolor direction.

It hope it answers the question “What would kindness feel like if you could actually hold it in your hands?”

It’s called The Kindness Envelope.

Most of us have people we care about.

A parent.

A grandparent.

An old friend.

A neighbor.

A sister.

A child.

Someone celebrating something special.

Someone going through a difficult time.

Someone we keep meaning to reach out to.

We think about them.

We care.

We mean to send the card, make the call, write the note, or do something thoughtful.

And then life gets busy.

Another week passes.

I know, because I’ve been there and I’ve done that.

The Kindness Envelope was created for that empty space between caring and actually reaching out.

It is a way to make staying connected easier, warmer, and more personal again.

I’ve created a new Substack called The Kindness Envelope. It’s a bit of an experiment. I don’t have everything figured out. But I am guided by four pillars: be Loving, be Joyful, be Grateful, and be Giving.

Kindness Magnet started a beautiful journey. It allowed me to connect with you, and I hope it brought some kindness into your life. The archives and all of the stories will remain for you to enjoy and share.
