An Invitation. Plus, All Those Kindness Quotes on Twitter...
Nigeria, Canada, India, South Africa, U.S.A. oh my...
This is the Kindness Magnet newsletter — useful kindness habits you can use to attract more opportunities, better health, relationships, and happiness. I’m Heather Johnston Brebaugh, author and kindness advocate.
You’re Invited
I’d love to have you join me at the 1st global Humanity for Life event, presented by The Theatre for Solutions, a non-profit, based in Nigeria, focusing on ‘cultivating a passion for the common good of humanity.’
If you follow global news, you will have read about the violent crime, trafficking, and kidnapping that has plagued parts of Nigeria. Research shows that empathy is declining, all over the world. The Theatre for Solutions wants to change that by bringing a global awareness to humanity.
5 facilitators representing Canada, India, Nigeria, South Africa, and the U.S.A. will be sharing ideas for creating more global understanding, compassion, and inspiration at the macro and micro level.
Date: Friday, July 23
Time: 10am PDT (1pm EDT)
Duration: 1 hour (feel free to stop by for as much time as you wish)

All Those Kindness Quotes on Twitter…
I’m guilty. I post cute quotes about kindness on Twitter. In fairness to me (trying not to seem too guilty!), I’m not the only one. #kindnessquotes brings up thousands of images and sayings, such as…
“A warm smile is the universal language of kindness” ~ J. Hope.
People lick them up like a dog with peanut butter smeared on its nose. Likes here. Shares there.
All that time posting images, clicking on tweets, retweeting. There are 330+ million Twitter users, about 69 million of those in the U.S. There are about 500 million tweets per day, 350,000 per minute.
My brain is thinking, if, instead of taking a minute to post a random tweet, what if each tweet, instead, became an act of kindness. You know, something where you actually interacted with another human.
Something simple. Tell someone that you appreciate them (15 seconds). Call someone on the phone and ask how their day is going (2 minutes). Smile at someone in the check out line (2 seconds). Ask the cashier how her day is going (1 minute including her response). Send a good morning text/email to a friend you don’t see often (2 minutes).
Even if you aren’t a Twitter tweeter, you could still do those simple little acts of kindness, starting right now.
Let’s do it!
May your week be filled with kindness. 💜
Heather Johnston Brebaugh
