That is so fantastic. Fred Rogers believed in more kindness, understanding, and LESS HATRED & DIVISIVENESS. We need to make that happen, especially in this insane world we live in now. I loved that Tom Hanks did such a fantastic job playing him.

Mr. Rogers & Tom Hanks are related through a Bavarian ( ? ) ancestor, I heard.

Thanks so much for reading, Daniel. Fred Rogers was (and continues to be) an inspiration and a model for the choice we could each make to be kind.

I didn't know that about the relationship with Tom Hanks! Thanks for that!

I’m always happy to see content about Mister Rogers. Like so many others, I find more inspiration in his message as an adult than I did as a child. This story is a perfect example of that.

In fact, regularly Fred Rogers inspires content about leadership qualities on Timeless & Timely — such as this one about authenticity:

What a terrific post about just being yourself, Scott. That video with Fred Rogers and young Jeff Erlanger is beautiful.

As you're helping companies, I imagine that authenticity has a big role.

Thank you, Blake and Heather. What I remember about Mr Rogers is how calm and soothing his voice was, the slowness of his speech. I turned the show on for my little boy, but I was the one most mesmerized by the realness and kindness of the show. In truth, I turned it on for myself.

Thank you for honoring Blake, CK. It was really gracious of him to share his personal story.

I loved Mr. Rogers too. Goes to show how someone so gentle can be so powerful.

And thank you for your thought on my posts...not sure how long I'll be away. 💚

Loved Mr. Rogers and all he embodied. I love this video. He was the read deal and he defined authentic: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TcNxY4TudXo (Rogers inducted into hall of fame and a grown man in wheelchair recalls his moment on the set as a child.

He really did, plus what is also touching is to see that man when he was on set for Mr Rogers as a 5 year old. It is very touching if you haven't seen it.

Yes, I have seen it. Fred Rogers was the epitome of living in the moment.

I felt the same when when reading his letters back to Blake.

Thanks for the reminder of what a magnificent human being Fred Rodgers was. I'm fully confident he was not perfect but I can't think of any children's TV actor that did more to bring civility, curiosity and a brief sense of security into homes with none of those attributes.

I can't either, Mark.

Fred Rogers was a special kind of person. It was heartwarming to read his response to Blake. The poem was a fitting tribute to how inspirational Mr. Rogers was to young Blake.

I hope and Bill are back soon , Heather.

Thank you, Heather. If we were wise, our world would be more like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood and less like Thunder Dome.

We’re off the trail for a few days to change equipment. My sleeping pad won’t hold air and Bears expensive tent’s pole holders broke. I’m heading back asap. It gets in the blood.

It is so quiet up there. I walked all day by myself one day and the quiet was stunning. That night, I cowboy camped under the stars and next to a big fallen oak. I’m so hooked.

The hardships are small compared to the glory.

So happy you are filled with beauty.

Would love hear about the terrain, the weather, the sights, the sounds, the small creatures, where you are and how far along the trail.

Oh, my goodness, yes. Mr. Rogers was definitely part of my childhood. And I hear the movie where Tom Hanks portrayed him is pretty good, too.

Heather- I love Fred's emphasis on "right here, right now," which is probably the element that's missing from today's outlook and accepting those around us. Thanks for sharing. :)
