Such a fun thought..."just delighted to receive compliments "! Definitely good!

And here's where I'm supposed to say, "Thank you."...when I really was thinking, "I hope it didn't seem like I was self promoting. " old habits die hard!

Great advice, Heather. Saying, "Thank you" is such an easy way to be kind. Every time I compliment my friend Lana on something she is wearing, she says, "I got it at Ross!! Ten bucks!" EVERY TIME! It may be true, but how much nicer she would feel if she allowed herself to say, "Hey, thanks for noticing! I thought it was kind of cute myself!" A win-win experience. Sharron from LEAVES.

I trained myself to say "Thank you" and leave it at that, even while my inner Brit squirmed with embarrassment. Still does. 😀

Oh so funny, Annette. My Mom was a Brit and I was raised that way, too. Very squirmy. 🤣

Hit the nail on the head again, Heather. Loved the article. I am like you, and have a tough time accepting a compliment. Funny thing.

Thank you, Paul. I am now choking back the self-defeating additional words I would normally say! This 'accepting compliments thing' is hard work!

This is so great, Heather! (Now just say 'thank you') This is me, too. I've finally learned to say 'thank you' after most compliments, but I usually have to add that 'it as nothing', when sometimes it actually was something. And I know it.

I'm going to try and remember what you said here, that it's a gift and the giver means it or they wouldn't have said it. Perfect!

Thank you, Ramona. Nice to hear from you. You have been in my thoughts. 💜 PS: Will you be writing to us from Michigan for a while?

Yes, I got back to Michigan yesterday. I'm not at home in the U.P yet--waiting for the snow to melt--but I'm where my heart is and I'll be writing from here. Thanks for asking. 💕
