I love 'Realistic Positivity'! I need to practice it more often, and hopefully I will, now that I know what it's called. LOL.
I think part of the Ukrainian success so far is just that--realistic positivity. They know the odds but they know themselves. They know Putin's massive firepower might go against them, but Putin will never win the war. They'll never quit fighting him or any of the puppets he so foolishly thinks he can put in place. It won't happen.
Thank you for this, Heather. I hope it finds a wide audience.
I agree that there is a mind-body connection that works in both directions. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and a healthy mind leads to a healthy body. I also believe that being optimistic is a better choice, not only to encourage you to take care of yourself because you have hopes for a better future, but because being optimistic allows you to find better solutions to problems. This is the Life Lesson in the 1992 comedy, "Wayne's World." https://moviewise.wordpress.com/2013/05/22/waynes-world/
When everything looks bleak, it's hard to even imagine a way out. But an optimistic mindset allows you to see many more possibilities. Of course, these do have to be based on reality and be realistic, but humans have always done so many wonderful, astonishing things that at one point no one thought was possible.
There is a lot of reason to have hope that we can find a way to have peace in the world.
