Heather, these are great reminders. Much of this I do, but where you got me ( and I am thankful) is "do something nice for someone today." I love that and will remember that, which means I will also do some version of that. Thank you!
First of all, your new logo up top is AWESOME! It's the first thing I noticed when I opened your email and I love it!
Second, these are all really good tips. When I wake up my first to-do is taking my dog for a walk because I don't have a yard. I feel pretty blessed that I HAVE TO go outside before anything else because I'm forced to watch the sun rise while I walk. Most days I feel overwhelmed with gratitude at how beautiful it is where I live (Rocky mountain view).
I'm copying this list and posting it on the fridge and on the medicine cabinet mirror. I can see that stacking makes sense. Building new habits on ones already in place. Thanks Heather.
I love the stacking concept, too. One of my favorites it doing stretches while my tea is 'readying'. Kinda perks me up in the morning! Thanks for reading!
Have you tried a guided mediation? There are hundreds on youtube. Just search for what you want-- relax, inspiration, health... Wim Hof has great breathing mediations.
I just did Wim Hof's guide breathing for beginners. It was wonderful...although I'm couldn't hold my breath for a minute and a half this time....maybe tomorrow!
Thanks again for giving me some direction on this.
Yes, I do have some positive "habits," however, unlike the bad habits (like watching too much news) the positive ones are harder to keep. Thus, the benefit of regular reminders.
Making the bed every morning helped me survive a very dark time. It was one little achievement in a sea of despair, but one little achievement is sometimes all we need to launch another, then another little achievement.
Miracles can come in very low dosages at first. . .

Thank you, Jill. From reading your work, I'm pretty sure that you have some amazing 'habits' throughout your day!
Thanks :)
I know I try.
Excellent stuff as always, Heather! This arrived at the perfect time for me
I'm so glad it was helpful for you. You made my day!

Hi Kristi. Thanks for noticing the new logo!
I love dogs....just don't have one anymore. You are fortunate to have that morning jaunt...exercise, beauty, and gratitude all rolled into one!

This is wonderful. I always love reminders as some mornings I want a break from taking out the dog, feeding him, then the cat...
I do meditate every day and journal with gratitude.
You?
No dog or cat....ratz! I love critters.
I'm trying to meditate....I have a hard time turning things off.

Thank you. 💚 I really appreciate the suggestion. There are so many it's hard to know where to start.

It gets easier. 🥰
Being intentional about gratitude and healthy living is a great start to any day - thanks for the reminder, Heather.
Thanks, Mark. I imagine that you have a lot of positive habits during your day!

I have almost completely un-newsed my life in the last two years and have no regrets. Evil will need a way to carry on without my constant attention.
If you need something to fill the news void, take up a less toxic habit, such as smoking or intravenous drug use.
Only in 2024 have the last two become healthier choices.
Thank you Heather
