Thank you, Heather, for the great history lesson. I knew none of that. It was the perfect example to illustrate your theme this week. Nicely done.

Hi Heather, Assertive kindness. That is a new concept for me and one that I like - a lot. Many of the reasons you listed are why I haven't pursued it sooner. It's time to give it a try.

You and I are from the same mold, Janice. It has taken me years to understand the benefits of assertive kindness.....and even longer to try it. It's a bit intimidating....but it works.

Based on what I've seen in your writing, you'll be on to this in no time!

Hi Janice. I know I already replied to your comment. But I got to thinking....and I wanted to thank you for your reply. Two people unsubscribed after this post went live yesterday and I was feeling a bit bummed 😞. I usually try to inject some humor into my posts....this was the first one where it was just serious content and I decided that maybe that was a bad idea.

Your reply was like a ray of sunshine 🌞. I've always felt that, if I could reach just one person with a post then it would be worthwhile. So thank you for taking the time to let me know it was useful for you. That means a lot! 💚

Hi Heather, I know the feeling of losing subscribers and am glad my comment brightened your day a bit. I see myself as a kind person but not very assertive as I mentioned previously. The notion that I could be both was empowering and I began practicing yesterday. Take care!
