Great topic Heather! Brad & I have a few family members that need to practice these skills for sure. Really makes you think about being a more thoughtful listerner!
These are wonderful! I love them all! Thank you for sharing them, Sharron.
And thank you for your encouragement. As a fellow writer, you know how much that means. 💜
I've been thinking about interviewing people for different perspectives on kindness, gratitude, and what makes the world go 'round. Noodling and ruminating haha!
Perfect timing. I just finished an email conversation with an internet friend.(?) It didn't go the way I thought it would. Turns out he is going to ghost me. Sometimes we have good intentions, but sometimes those intentions are not asked for - is the moral of that story.
Anywho, Your wisdom and uplifting topics always make me feel good! Thanks, Heather. I like open ended questions. I use "tell me something about yourself that most of your friends don’t know about." in my welcome email. Then I tell people something about me that none of my friends know. Talk soon, Paul
I'm sorry your conversation didn't have the outcome you had hoped for. I've certainly had my share of those, too. But you're a good person....I can tell by the comments people have made about you when I recommend your Substack, and by the way you write.
And thank you for the vote of confidence. I really appreciate it.
That's a terrific question to ask, especially in your welcome email. What a great way to start a conversation. I imagine you get some very interesting answers!
Thank you for boiling an important process down to 3 memorable steps. And, especially Step 3. I heard a bell ringing when I read it ... "you need to do this" it sounded. BTW, I love magnets and they tend to be all around my living space. You made me think of finding one that captures the idea of a "kindness magnet." I noticed a red heart magnet above my workspace and decided that's it. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment, Joyce. I agree....Step 3 is the one we are most likely to forget. I'm trying to practice! I love your 'bell ringing'. Such a good mental reminder.
A sweet friend brought me a pretty gold pin from her winter trip to Florida. It says "Kindness is Cool". I don't have magnets at my place, but I'm going to wear the pin as a reminder to be kind.
I'm enjoying reading Gratitude Mojo Cafe. You have excellent ideas about the benefits of gratitude and I always feel good after reading your work. Thanks for that!
Thank you for taking the time to read it. I really appreciate that!
Ditto!

Thank you, Donna. You're so right! I feel like the world would be a better place if we just practiced some simple communication skills.
Three questions I often use to get a friend talking:
1.) What is new and good in your life these days?
2.) Tell me about five good minutes you've had today.
3.) What have you been thinking about / wondering about these days?
I am happy with ANYTHING you send out to us, Heather. It is all positive and inspiring! Thank you.

Happy Monday, Paul.
Yes, some have been eyeopening 👀
Have a great week, Heather, and thanks, as always for the kind words!

No doubt, humanity needs communication as much as communication needs humanity.
Hello Magaji. So wonderful to hear from you. Tell me how your kindness initiatives are going. 💜
It's so commendable how you've kept the Kindness Magnet alive. My project also looks sustainable. Warm regards!
